How the Tour Unfolds
Meet your boatman at Assi Ghat - the southernmost and most serene of Varanasi's ghats. Life jackets are provided for all passengers. The departure time is flexible - book for sunrise, morning, afternoon, or sunset.
Glide northward along the Ganges past all 51 ghats - Tulsi Ghat, Kedar Ghat, Harishchandra Ghat, Dashashwamedh Ghat, Panchganga Ghat, and more. Your boatman narrates the history, mythology, and significance of each ghat on the way.
Pass by or briefly stop at Dashashwamedh Ghat - the most famous ghat in Varanasi and the site of the nightly Ganga Aarti. On evening rides, witness the preparations as priests set up the fire lamps for the ceremony.
The tour concludes near Manikarnika Ghat - one of the holiest cremation grounds in India, burning continuously for thousands of years. A profound and unforgettable end to the journey along the Ganges.

Common Questions
What is the difference between this and the 84 Ghats Boat Ride?
The Kashi Darshan covers 51 ghats between Assi Ghat and Manikarnika Ghat - this is the sacred pilgrimage stretch most significant in Hindu tradition. The 84 Ghats Boat Ride extends further north to Namo Ghat and takes approximately 3 hours. This tour is 1 hour and focuses on the most culturally and spiritually significant part of the riverfront.
What time is best for the boat ride?
Sunrise (5:30-6:30 AM) is the most recommended - the light is golden, the ghats are active with morning prayers, and the energy of Varanasi waking up is unlike anything else. Sunset rides are equally beautiful. Avoid the midday heat in summer months.
Is the boat ride private or shared?
This is a 100% private boat ride. The boat and boatman are exclusively for your group. No strangers, no shared itinerary.
Is it safe for seniors and children?
Yes. Life jackets are provided for all passengers. The CNG motorboat is stable and covered. The ride is gentle with no strong currents at the ghats. Suitable for all ages.
Can I combine this with the Ganga Aarti?
Yes - many guests book this as an afternoon or sunset ride and then attend the Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat separately in the evening. We can also arrange a combined Ganga Aarti Boat Ride if you want to watch the ceremony from the water.
