Every Gulabari is shaped by the season, the raga, and your intention. This is the arc of an evening on the Ganga.
Saurabh receives you at the ghat in traditional kurta, with a garland of marigold and rose. The premium wooden boat is already adorned — diyas lit, copper bowls of petals waiting, the musician seated and tuning.
The boat rows into the heart of the Ganga. The first notes of sitar rise over the water — a raga chosen for this exact hour, this exact light. The city looks different from the river.
The scholar begins stuti — Sanskrit verses honouring the river. You are invited to scatter rose petals on the water. Each petal carries a prayer. Diyas drift alongside. This is the ceremony at its heart.
As the music softens, brass plates arrive. Royal Banarasi dishes — recipes carried through generations of the city's cultural households. You dine as Kashi's patrons once did, with the river below and the ghats illuminated ahead.
The boat drifts past Assi, Dashashwamedh, Manikarnika — now lamp-lit, luminous. The ceremony closes with a final raga. You return to the ghat carrying something the river gives only to those who offer something first.
